How to perform civil marriage in Turkey?
According to Turkish civil law, foreign citizens can have their marriage validated in Turkey. Civil marriage in Turkey is performed through the marriage registration offices in municipalities. The Turkish law requires that the applicant for marriage be at least 18 years old. Marriage of individuals who are 16 years old is allowed with a court’s consent and marriage of those who are 17 years old is allowed with the presence and signature of one of the parents along with a written consent from a notary public. Turkish law also prohibits polygamy. The foreign person must schedule an appointment with the marriage department at the municipality in the area they reside and prepare the necessary documents for the wedding ceremony mentioned below.
The required documents to complete an official civil marriage contract in Turkey for foreigners are as follows:
Civil Status Records: These should be obtained from the civil registry authorities in the home country, authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in that country, further authenticated by the consulate of the requesting party’s country in Turkey, and finally notarized by the local authority in the area where the marriage will take place (apostille). Afterward, the civil status records should be translated by a sworn translator and notarized by a notary public (noter). Note that some municipalities may require a birth certificate in addition to the civil status records, which should also be translated and notarized. The documents should be recent, and in some cases, these documents can be obtained directly from the consulate of the requesting party’s country in Turkey.
Passport Translation: The passport of the individuals should be translated by a sworn translator and notarized by a notary public (noter).

Medical Report: A medical report for both individuals should be obtained from Turkish government hospitals or a family doctor.
Proof of Residence in Turkey.
Additionally, if one of the spouses does not speak Turkish, a sworn translator should be present at the marriage department during the marriage registration process.

A medical report for both spouses, which can be obtained from Turkish government hospitals or a family doctor.

Additionally, if one of the spouses does not speak the Turkish language, a sworn translator should be present at the marriage department for translation during the marriage ceremony.
The process for obtaining a civil marriage certificate in Turkey involves the following steps:
